Christopher got bit by the theatre bug in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas, performing in high school productions of The Crucible, The Mousetrap, Ghetto, and many others. He shifted gears to the design world when he entered the Texas State UIL competition for scenic design, placing as a top 6 finisher with his design of an apocalyptic Into the Woods.

Christopher moved to California to pursue an education in stage directing and scenic design, spending four years at Pepperdine University in Malibu. There, he designed student productions such as Rhinoceros and Stay Because (written by a fellow classmate, Nate Bartoshuk), department MainStage shows such as As You Like It and Ugly Lies the Bone, as well as designing the set and projections for a TEDx event sponsored by the University. He was also a participant in Pepperdine’s Edinburgh program, designing the set for Davey Anderson’s The Abode at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He directed his first full production during his senior year, bringing Freud’s Last Session to life alongside fellow actor Coby Rogers. He stage managed three of Pepperdine’s productions, one of which was performed via livestream thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout his time in Pepperdine’s Theatre program, Christopher filled crew and design positions for every production that crossed Pepperdine’s stage.

Since graduating, Christopher has worked as the head of recruitment for Pepperdine Fine Arts, where he helps to introduce a new generation of artists to the community that gave him so much. He has continued to pursue work in the Los Angeles theatre industry, working closely with projections designer Nick Santiago on many occasions, such as co-designing the projections for Pepperdine’s production of Into the Woods. He worked as the video supervisor for Deaf West Theatre’s production of Oedipus at the Getty Villa, and as projections designer for Ayano at the Actor’s Company. He is an acting student of Chris Fields, Artistic Director of the Echo Theatre Company, where he has frequently worked as a stage manager in productions like Poor Clare and Ascension.

In 2023, Christopher began his graduate education at Pepperdine, pursuing a M.A. in Religion with an emphasis in Christian History, focusing on the intersection of religion and performance. Through this program, he spent a summer in Heidelberg, Germany, studying Christian nationalism and religious drama. This inspired him to write The Toll Box, imagining a prison outside of time, shared by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Václav Havel. He is currently researching and writing his thesis, which will focus on the intersection of faith, performance, and sexuality at Christian universities in Los Angeles.
